Levi is a quarter horse stallion sculpted to represent the doing horse. Don't be fooled by the standing position! This is an athlete that was built to move. I wanted to showcase the body type of the horse that will perform in reining, cutting, trail, etc. and stay sound while doing so. His soft expression shows the willing and workmanlike mind the breed is known for.
Whatever your performance preference, there is a version to suit your style. Levi comes in three versions: The Denim Edition (ranch type with long mane and loose tail) for the cowboy needing a rough and tough work partner, the Dockers Editions (banded mane/ganged long tail) for the gentleman who wants a bit of polish in their mount, and the Threadbare Edition (no m/t, customizing ready) for those horsemen that like to put a little bit of work in to get their ideal mount.
Traditional was the main scale focus for this chap. He was cast both by myself in solid cast wire-reinforced resin as well as hollow cast with wire reinforcement by Mountain View Studios for the Dockers and Denim editions. Threadbare was cast by me in solid cast with wire. The piece measures approximately 7" high x 10" long.
There is a venti version with a medium-length mane and a flippy tail that was originally created for use as an example model showing off color techniques and recipes in my planned technique book. Which I swear I will get to some day. There have been a few painted ones released into the wild, as well as about 5-10 unpainted copies that were sold or donated.
